Having no time to crank out a new sketch for Sunday, here is an oldie, going all the way back to 2001; I used to bring a sketchbook to Wall Berlin Kaffeehaus off Telegraph Avenue and sketch some of the local color. I miss that place. It was filled to the brim with the intellectual end of Telegraph's homeless, gutter punk and general malcontent population. I used to go up there with my pal Dylan and drink endless cups of what they called 'Rocket Fuel', in between trips to get pizza across the street at La Val's, or sneaking off to the U.C Berkeley Campus to smoke some pot before coming back to Wall Berlin to get more coffee. Ah, the good old days.
You can read a bit about the now defunct Wall Berlin Kaffeehaus here: CAFE CULTURE 1998
